Simeon Stedman

     Simeon was born on Thursday, 7 February 1686 in Wethersfield, Hartford County, Connecticut. Simeon departed this life before 26 November 1709 in Wethersfield. The inventory of Simeon's estate was taken on Tuesday, 26 November 1709. By Nathan Stadder and Jonathan Demming. The inventory included 60 acres of land the frame of a house and other moveable items. The value of the estate was £66 14s. 6d.¹ On 26 Feb 1710, the distribution of his moveable estate was: John Sedman Jr £1 18s. the other three siblings received £3 16s. 8d. John’s portion was less because the court appointed subscribers, John Curtis jr. I.L. Griswold & George Lisbon felt that John’s lot in the division was substantially more valuable than the other 3. On the 28^th the siblings agreed to this distribution.¹ His will was probated on 3 April 1710. On this date Thomas, as administrator of the estate gave his final accounting of the administration and gave the final value of the estate to be £38 2s. 2d. after all debts were paid.¹
