The 1820 U.S. Federal Census enumerates at Durham, Greene County, New York, the family of Salmon Stedman [001002:00001].1 Salmon's wife, Lucina, died on 16 May 1823 in New Durham, Greene County, New York, leaving him a widower. 15 August 1860, the U.S. Federal Census listed Salmon living in the home of his son at Brattleboro, Windham County, Vermont. Enumerated in this household were J. H. Stedman [51 New York], Elmira [50 New York], Maria [16 New York], Frances [14 New York], Clarinda [7 New York] & Salmon Stedman [81 Connecticut]. J. H. is a physician & Salmon is a blacksmith.2 Salmon departed this life on Friday, 22 March 1861 in Brattleboro, Windham County, Vermont.3
