John Stedman III

     John was born on Friday, 1 September 1679 in Wethersfield, Hartford County, Connecticut.¹ John married Abigail Andrews, daughter of Samuel Andrews and Elizabeth Spencer, circa 1703 in Connecticut. John departed this life in Windsor, Hartford County, Connecticut. Letters of Administration of his estate were granted on 7 June 1737 Abigail was granted administrator to her husband's estate on this date..² The inventory of John's estate was taken on Tuesday, 19 January 1740. It was taken by Joseph Hawley, Isaac Cowles, and H. Deming. They valued the estate at £103 14 shilling 3 pence. The inventory included 60 acres and a small house.³ His will was probated on 2 February 1743/44. Abigail appeared before the court and presented her administration papers. The court accepted them on this date.²
