Ralph was born in Staffordsire, England, at the Manor of Bagot's Bromley. Ralph married Elizabeth de Blithfield, daughter of Richard Blithfield and Catherine Baliden, circa 1367. His wife, Elizabeth, was the sole heir of father's vast estates and brought them to her marriage. She, however, retained them in her own right during her married life. The couple did chose to live at Blithfield Manor. Ralph also inherited the title of Lord Bromley from his father as well as the manors attached to the title. On 11 June 1367, his father-in-law, Richard de Blithfield granted a quit-claim deed for a meadow called Blythmor.3 Ralph departed this life in the beginning of the reign of Richard II [1377-1400].
