     Salmon was born on Friday, 21 May 1779 in New Britian, Hartford County, Connecticut. Salmon married Lucina Hotchkiss on 22 December 1803 in New York. He was a blacksmith. The 1810 U.S. Federal Census enumerates at Windham Township, Greene County, New York, the family of Solomon Stedman.1 The 1820 U.S. Federal Census enumerates at Durham, Greene County, New York, the family of Salmon Stedman [001002:00001].2 Salmon's wife, Lucina, died on 16 May 1823 in New Durham, Greene County, New York, leaving him a widower. 15 August 1860, the U.S. Federal Census listed Salmon living in the home of his son at Brattleboro, Windham County, Vermont. Enumerated in this household were J. H. Stedman [51 New York], Elmira [50 New York], Maria [16 New York], Frances [14 New York], Clarinda [7 New York] & Salmon Stedman [81 Connecticut]. J. H. is a physician & Salmon is a blacksmith.3 Salmon departed this life on Friday, 22 March 1861 in Brattleboro, Windham County, Vermont.
