     Peter IM was born circa 1745 in Germany. Peter married Anna Elizabeth Kornman on 18 September 1764 in Lancaster, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, at Trinity Luthern Church. Volume 1- page 266, Item 365: "Peter Schafstall, single, married Anna Elisabet Kornammin on Sept. 18, 1764." Lawfully married by Paster J.S. Gerock.2 It should be noted that on 4 March 1785 Dauphin County formed from the parent county of Lancastser County. The 1790 U.S. Federal Census enumerates at Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, the family of Peter Shoffstall [32:3].3 In the 1800 Pennsylvania Septennial Census the following are listed as residing in Upper Paxton, Dauphin County: Christiam Shofstall, Peter Shofstall Sen., Soloman Shofstall, Daniel Shofstall, Henry Shofstall, John Shofstall & Peter Shofstall Jr.4 The 1800 U.S. Federal Census enumerates at Upper Paxton Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, the family of Peter Shoffstall [32011:0111].5 The 1810 U.S. Federal Census enumerates at Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, the family of Peter Shofstall [00001:00001].6 Peter's wife, Anna, died in 1813 in Lykens Township leaving him a widower. Peter departed this life on Wednesday, 28 February 1816 in Lykens Township. He was buried there in Lykens Township in St. Peter's Cemetery.7
