     Jane was born in 1804 in New York. Jane married James W. Beardslee, son of William Beardslee and Mary Wheeler, circa 1830 in New York. James & Jane had children: William [2/18/1833-1/28/1903][m. 7/04/1878 Mary Johnson], Sarah [5/18/1835-2/24/1910][m. 1/27/1859 Jerome Gibson], Mary [6/28/1837-8/07/1912][m. 10/25/1859 William Henry Giddings], Daughter [died young] & John [10/08/1844-11/13/1907][m. Emogene Fuller]. On 4 September 1832, James Beardslee of Tioga Co., New York, purchased of the US Government 80 acres of land in Independence Township [W 1/2 SE 1/4 of Section 23 of T4N R9E][no. 257]. On 2 August 1837, James Beardslee of Oakland Co., Michigan, purchased of the US Government 117.22 acres in Oxford Township [NW 1/4 of Section 18 T5N R10E][no. 466]. 9 August 1850, Jane and her husband, James, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Oxford Township. Enumerated in this household were James Birdslee [45 New Jersey], his wife: Jane [42 New York], children: William [19 Michigan], Sarah [15 Michigan], Mary [13 Michigan], & John [6 Michigan]. James is a farmer.1 26 July 1860, Jane and her husband James were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Oxford Township. Enumerated in this household were James Beardsley [56 New Jersey], Jane -[52 New York], John [15 Michigan].2 Jane's husband, an unknown person , died on 26 December 1867 in Oxford Township, Oakland County, Michigan, leaving her a widow. 29 June 1870, Jane was listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Oxford Township. Enumerated in this household were Jane Berardslee [62 New York], William [38 New York] & Jennie Rummer [12 Michigan]. Their farm is valued at $4000 and they have personal property worth $600.3 Jane departed this life on Tuesday, 7 February 1888 in Oxford Township at age 84 years. She was buried there in Oxford Township in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Her tombstone reads: 1804-1889.4
