Cicily Sexton

F, d. before 9 October 1670
     Cicily was born in England. Cicily married Robert Pottenger, son of Henry Pottenger and Elizabeth Absolon, on 6 May 1633 in Lambourne, Berkshire, England, at St. Michael and All Angels Church.1 Cicily's husband, Robert, died before 8 February 1665 in Aldbourne, Berkshire, England, leaving her a widow. Cicily made her will on 6 November 1669.

In the name of God Amen: I Cecilia Pottenger widow of Albourne in the Countie of Wilts being good & __________ of bodie and of sound and perfect memorie ______________ to Almighty God, doe make and Ordaine this as my present last will & testament in manner and form following [that is to say] First & principally I commend my Soule into the hands of Almighty God hoping through the merits ____ and passion of my Savior Jesus Christ to have full and ______ pardon and forgiveness of all my syns and to inherit everlasting life, And my bodie I commit to the Earth to be decently buryed at the discretion of my Executor hereafter named, And as touching the disposition of all such temporall Estate as it hath pleased Almighty God to bestow upon me I give and dispose thereof as followth: Imprimis I will that my debts and funeral Charges shall be payd and discharged – Item I doe give and bequeath unto my daughter in Law Sarah Pottenger wife of Robert Pottenger one sute of my best lynnon to be delivered unto her within one month after my decease; Item I doe give and bequeath unto my Grand child Sarah Pottenger daughter of the above named Robert and Sarah Pottenger one sute of Lynnon to be delivered unto her within one month after my decease; Item give and bequeath unto my God daughter and Grand Child Cicilia Pottenger daughter of the above named Robert and Sarah Pottenger one _________petticoat and one sute of lynnon to be delivered unto her within one month after my decease. Item I doe give and bequeath unto my Sonn Robert Pottenger two shillings and six pence to be payd within one month after my decease. Item I doe give and bequeath unto my Sonn Robert Pottenger One paire of new shoos one paire of ________ Pillowbors, and my great Skillot and one paire of Andirons; Also the rest and residue of my personal estate and Goods whatsoever. I doe give and bequeath unto my loving Sonns Thomas Pottenger and Roger Pottenger full and sole executors of this my last Will and Testament. And I doe hereby revoke disanull and make voyd all former Wills and Testaments by mee heretofore made: In witness whereof I the said Cicilia Pottenger have set my hand and seale the sixth day of November in the year of Our Lord One thousand six hundred sixtie and nine and in the one and tenth year of his Majesties Reigne Charles the second: Cilcilia Pottenger her mark - Signed and Sealed in the presence of Robert Tulso: Edward Willets.2

Cicily departed this life in Aldbourne. She was buried there in St. Michael's Churchyard on Thursday, 9 October 1670.3 Her will was probated on 3 July 1673.
