     Simon was born circa 1613 in London, County Middlesex, England. Simon married circa 1636 in Herefordshire, England. To a woman whose name is unknown. In 1642, Simon Seryon resided in Stamford, Connecticut. In 1644, he was among those on the List of Associates who crossed the Long Island Sound to make their home on Long Island, then under Dutch rule. They settled at a place called "Success", later to become known as "Hempstead". Simon obtained land in patents for both Hempstead & Oyster Bay. In 1647, Simon shared in the first division of land in Queens County, New York. In 1655, Simon sold land in Oyster Bay to Christopher Hawkhhurst. In 1674, Simon & others of Hempstead petition to have a minister. On 20 October 1683, Capt. John Seaman, Simon Searing selected to represent town before the govenor of New York. On 27 September 1684, Simon Serin, John Seaman, John Jackson & John Tredwell were choosen to help settle land dispute. The mother of his children is not known. She appears to be deceased by 31 August 1698 as Simon is residing with his son John. 31 August 1698, Simon was listed on the Hempstead Town Census. Enumerated in this household were John Sering, Susanah, Simon Searing, [father], John Jr., Jeams, Samuell, Simon, Jonathan, Mary, Sarah & Hannah. Simon departed this life after 31 August 1698 in Hempstead Town, Queens County, Long Island, New York. He is listed on 1698 census with son John.
