Edward was born in the hamlet of Chartridge, Chesham, Buckinghamshire, England. He was christened there on 4 April 1563 in St. Mary's Church.¹ Edward married Elizabeth Gifford, daughter of John Gifford and Joane (?), on 20 October 1589 in Chesham at St. Mary's Church.¹ Edward departed this life in Chesham. He was buried there in the churchyard of St. Mary's on Sunday, 13 December 1620.¹
