Marie Salois

     Marie was born on Sunday, 24 January 1677 in Ste-Familie, Ile d'Orleans, Quebec, Canada. She was christened there on 27 January 1677 in Ste-Famile Church.¹ A contract for the marriage of Marie & Pierre Lefebvre was signed on 12 April 1692 in ville de Quebec, Quebec, Canada. The contract written by the notary, Louis Chambalon states that Pierre was a sailor who resided in ville de Quebec, and that he was born in Ville de St-Malo, Haute Bretagne. His parents are given as Jean Lefebvre, a ship's carpenter, and Olive Gobin. Marie's parents are given as Claude Sallouer and Marie Anne Mabille and that the family was living in the parish of St-Paul I.O..² Marie's husband, Pierre, died before 20 November 1702 in St-Laurent, Ile d'Orleans, Quebec, Canada, leaving her a widow. Marie married 2nd Pierre Millet on 20 November 1702 in St-Laurent at St-Laurent Church.³ Pierre and Marie had children: Pierre [1/05/1704-3/06 178[m. 1/03/1727 Marie Angelique Brousseau], Zacharie [6/27/1705], Marie Anne [8/01/1707-4/26/1784][m. 2/16/1722 Guillaume Charby dit Langlois], Jean [3/16/1710-9/05/1793][m. 2/14/1729 Marie Louise Masson], Genevieve [3/10/1712][m. 9/21/1728 Pierre Roy], Ignace [4/20/1713-4/23/1713], Louise [2/20/1714-8/03/1728] & a son [2/20/1714-2/22/1714].⁴ Marie's husband, Pierre, died on 15 October 1715 in St-Laurent leaving her a widow. Marie married 3rd Philippe Gasse on 26 November 1720 in St-Laurent at St-Laurent Church.⁵ Marie's husband, Philippe, died before 14 October 1748 in St-Laurent, Ile d'Orleans, Quebec, Canada, leaving her a widow. Marie departed this life in St-Augustin de-Desmaures, Portneuf County, Quebec, Canada. She was buried there in the cemetery of St-Augustin Church on Monday, 14 October 1748.⁶
