Marthe was born in Rouen, Normandy, France. She was the daughter of Nicolas Romain, a tailor and Marie Lefebvre.¹ She was christened there on 25 July 1589 in St-Vivien Church. Her godparents were Jehan Cinole & Marthe Brice. Marthe married Francois Marguerie on 7 October 1607 in Rouen, Normandy, France, at St-Vivien Church.
