     George was born circa 17 February 1563 in Brenchley, County Kent, England. On 17 February 1563, he was christened in Brenchley, County Kent, England, at All Saints Church. George married Mary Sheafe on 7 February 1586 in Brenchley, County Kent, England, at All Saints Church. George made his will on 10 February 1617 at Brenchley, County Kent, England.

The will of “George Roberts of the parish of Brenchley in the Countie of Kent Gent” was dated 10 Feb. 1616/7 proved 17 Feb. 1617/8. He asked for: . . . “my bodie to be buried in the parish church of Brenchley aforesaid neere the place where my Father was buried And a Tomestone to be layd thereon by my executrix Alsoe I give to the poore people of the parish of Brenchley Five pounds in money to be distributed at the discretion of my executrix Alsoe I give to Richard Austen minister of Beningden in the countie of Kente Fortie shillings to make a Sermon at my funeral And to Mr. Henshawe vicar of Brenchley tenne shillings to see that accomplished Alsoe I give to my mother Margaret Roberts Tenne pounds to be payd her within one yeare after my decease Alsoe I give to my godsonne George Gyles of Tenterden in the countie of Kent foresaid Twentie poundes tobe payde hime within two years after my decease Alsoe I give to Edward Woodwar my sisters soone Tenne poundes to be payd him within two yeres next after my decease Alsoe I give to Samuel Grenwell my sisters sonne Fortie poundes to be payd him within one yeare after my decease Also I give to John Grenwell his brother Tenne poundes Also I give to Sara Grenwell Twentie poundes to be payd her within two yeares after my decease Alsoe I give to Anne Grenwell her sister Twentie poundes to be payd her at the age of Nynteene years Alsoe I will that my executrix shall paye to my sister Maundy everie yeare after my decease during her natural life Tenne poundes for her onlie maintenance And if her husband shall sue or molest my said executrix for the said money then I will the said legacie to be voyd Alsoe I give and bequeath to her sonne Thomas Maundie Fiftie poundes to be payd him at his age of Twentie and Fower yeares Alsoe I give to Elizabeth Maundie my sisters daughter Fortie poundes to be payd her within twoe yeares after my decease Alsoe I give to me cosen Mary Reader six poundes thirteene shillings and Fower pence to be payd her within one yeare after my decease Alsoe I give to my sister Margerie Sheffe tenne poundes to be payd her within one yeare after my decease Alsoe I give to my servant Christopher Brooke Fortie shillings Alsoe I give to everie other of my servants that shall dwell with me at th tyme of my decease six shillings eight pence apiece.” The rest of his goods chattels and debts owing, legacies discharged, were given to wife Mary who was executrix. Richard Weekes gent. And John Austen the elder,clothier, both of Horsmonden, were named as overseers, and given 40 s. besides their charges. Wife Mary was given all messuages, lands and tenements in Brenchley and Hormonden, callle Flightsholt, Case Lande, Syndrell, and Halewood, occupied by Nicholas Ashdowne, Robert Scott, Robert Baker, RichardWilmeshurst, and Richard Castrite, being about 220 acres. Jeffry Amherst, Geoge Payne, John Brown and George Fenn were witnesses.1

George departed this life circa 15 January 1618 in Brenchley, County Kent, England. He was buried at Brenchley, County Kent, England, in the yard of All Saints Church. His will was probated on 17 February 1618.
