     Obedience was born on Thursday, 12 April 1601 in Long Buckby, Northamptonshire, England. He was christened there on 26 April 1601 in St. Lawrence Church.2 Obedience married Grace O'Neill circa 1624. Obedience and Grace had children: Margaret [1625][m. William Waters], Dorothy [m. Mountjoy Evelyn], John [7/05/1636-5/25/1706][m. 1/09/1662 Esther Littleton], Mary [1641][m. 12/16/1667 John Savage] & Frances [1664][m. 3/07/1662 Edward Littleton]. By 1629/30, Obience was settled in Virginia as he was then a member of the House of Burgesses from Accomac County.3 On his death bed, he made a nuncupative will.4 Obedience departed this life in Accomac, Northampton County, Virginia. His will was probated on 30 December 1662. The will was presented to the court by William Waters, son of Obedience's wife.
