Hezekiah was born on Wednesday, 1 March 1797 in Traptown, Frederick County, Maryland. He was christened there on 1 June 1797 in the Evangelical Lutheren Church. Hezekiah made his will on 14 January 1829 at Frederick County, Maryland.
In the name of God. I Hezekiah Ridgely of Frederick County in the state of Maryland being sick and enfeeble in body; but of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding, considering the certainty of death and the uncertainty of the time thereof and being desirous to settle my worldly affairs and thereby be the better prepared to leave the world when it shall please God to call me hence, do therefore make and publish this my last will & testament in manner & form following that is to say. – First and principally I commit my soul into the hands of Almighty God, and my body to the earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executors hereinafter mentioned, and after my funeral expenses and just debts are paid, I devise and bequeath as follows: I give and bequeath to my beloved mother Ruth Ridgely all my estate both real personal and mixed unto her and her heirs forever. And lastly, I do hereby constitute and appoint my brother Jacob Ridgely to be my Executor of this my last will and testament revoking and annulling all former wills by me heretofore made, ratifying and confirming this and note other to be my last will & testament. In Testimony whereof I have hereonto set my hand and affirmed my seal this fourteenth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty-nine.

Hezekiah departed this life on Monday, 19 January 1829 in Frederick County, Maryland, at age 31 years, 10 months and 18 days. He was buried there in Jefferson in the Chunn Ridgley Family Cemetery. The inscription on his tombstone reads: In Memory of Hezikiah Ridgley who was born 1 March A,D. 1797 and departed this life January the 19th A.D. 1829 aged 31 years 8 months and 18 days.3 His will was probated on 3 February 1829.
