     George was born circa 1500 in Brenchley, County Kent, England. George married Margery (?). George made his will on 19 December 1562 at Brenchley, County Kent, England.

The rest of his goods, chattles and leases were given to son John, who was co-executor with Edmund Roberds of Hawkhurst. Edmund was given five marks. Five marks was given to Thomas Frankelyn, overseer of the will. George’s disposition regarding his lands was that daughter Ann Whitfeld’s daughter Jone Baker, as well as Margaret Selyard, were each given xls. Yearly out of the lands, to be paid by son John, who was given all lands and tenements. Wife Myldred was given 5 marks yearly out of the lands, to be paid by son John. If any of the sums were unpaid, the legates were to enter on the land until payment was made. James Love and Richard Fyltnes werewitnesses.2

George departed this life on Tuesday, 25 December 1562 in Brenchley, County Kent, England. On a plate located there in the north aisle of the Brenchley Church reads: Here lyeth the body of George Roberts, sonne of Thomas Roberts, late of Brenchley in Kent Generos' which said George deceased the xxvth day of December anno D'ni 1556. [The year should have been 1562. It is said the plate was badly worn from the school children walking over it when attending church.]3 He was buried at Brenchley, County Kent, England, in All Saints Church. His will was probated on 25 September 1563.
