4 She and Richard were blessed with 5 children. On 14 October 1697, Mary & Richard were granted administration of Benjamin Fairbanks estate [Mary's 1st husband]. Mary's husband, Richard, died on 24 October 1707 in Woodstock, Windham County, Connecticut, leaving her a widow.
5 In 1710, her son, Benjamin, had a guardian appointed who was his Uncle Jeremiah Fisher. On 30 June 1711, in the settlement of her 1st husband, Benjamin Fairbanks, the probate court decided that the lands could not be divided without harm to the heirs. The land was given to Benjamin with stipulations made for him to pay his sister, Mary. for her share. Then in 1712, the land is set off for Mary Gates' dower rights.
