     Andrew was born in 1802 in Buckeye Town District, Frederick County, Maryland. He was named after his maternal grandfather, Andrew Heim. Andrew married Rebecca Heaton on 16 January 1825 in Marion County, Ohio. This was Crawford County but for the years 1824 & 1825 was considered part of Marion County. The 1840 U.S. Federal Census enumerates at Jackson Township, Crawford County, Ohio, the family of Andrew Regely [201001:031001].2 13 August 1850, Andrew and his wife, Rebecca, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Jackson Township. Enumerated in this household were Andrew Ridgely [48 Maryland], his wife: Rebecca [40 Ohio], children: Sarah Ann [23 Ohio], Samuel [22 Ohio], Hannah [19 Ohio], Elizabeth [17 Ohio], Mary Jane [16 Ohio], Andrew [12 Ohio], William [10 Ohio], Julia Ann [9 Ohio], Jacob [7 Ohio], Eli [3 Ohio], James [1 Ohio], and Elam Allen [20 Ohio].3 The family except for Sarah & Hannah removed to Page County, Iowa. On 10 July 1855, Andrew purchased 40 acres of land in Buchanon Township, Page County, Iowa and it is patented 1 October 1856. In 1856, Andrew & son Samuel each purchased 160 acres and was patented 1 December 1859. 21 July 1860, Andrew and his wife, Rebecca, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Buchanan Township, Page County, Iowa. Enumerated in this household were Andrew Ridgley [57 Maryland], Rebecca [52 Ohio], Andrew [22 Ohio], Wm. [20 Ohio], John [17 Ohio], Jacob [15 Ohio], Eli 13 Ohio], James [12 Ohio], Harriet [9 Ohio] & Daniel [12 Ohio]. Andrew Sr. is a farmer wirh his farm valued at $1000 and personal property valued at $250. His son Andrew has real estate valued at $400 and personal property valued at $100.4 28 July 1870, Andrew and his wife, Rebecca, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Buchanan Township. Enumerated in this household were Samuel Ridgely [68 Maryland], Rebecca [58 Ohio], James [21 Ohio], Harriet [19 Ohio] Arabel [12 Iiowa], Permilia [10 Iowa]. Samuel is a farmer and James is a farmhand. James has real property valued at $2400 and personal property valued at $800. [Note: The household head should have been Andrew. The two younger children, Arabel and Permeilia, are his grandchildren, children of his son Samuel. Their son, Jacob Ridgely, is listed directly below them and Andrew Ridgely, son of Samuel, is working as a farm hand for the family directly above them on this census. - KLM]5 Andrew's wife, Rebecca, died between 28 July 1870 and 4 June 1880 in Page County, Iowa, leaving him a widower. 4 June 1880, the U.S. Federal Census listed Andrew living in the home of his son at Lincoln Township, Cloud County, Kansas. Enumerated in this household were James Ridgely [32 Ohio], Sarah [32 Tennessee], William F. [14 Missouri], Joseph R. [11 Missouri], Marsha [9 Missouri], Matilda [4 Missouri] & father: Andrew [78 Maryland]. James is a farmer.6
