Elisabeth Auber

     Elisabeth was born on Sunday, 22 February 1654 in ville de Quebec, Quebec, Canada. On 24 March 1654, she was christened in ville de Quebec, Quebec, Canada, at the Basilica of Notre Dame.¹ Elisabeth married Bertrand Chesnay dit LaGarenne on 4 February 1671 in Chateau-Richer, Montmorency County, Quebec, Canada, at the church of La Visitation-de-Notre-Dame.² 1681, Elisabeth and her husband, Bertrand, were listed on the Canadian Census in ville de Quebec. Enumerated in this household were Bertrand Chesne [60 years], Elisabeth Aubert [30 years], Jean [20 years], Anne [17 years], Joseph [14 years], Elisabeth [9 years], Charles [8 years], Francoise [6 years], Madeleine [7 years], Marie [5 years], Louis [3 years], Agnes [4 months], a Domestic, Pierre [22 years] & a servant, Anne [15 years].³ Elisabeth's husband, Bertrand, died before 16 January 1683 in ville de Quebec leaving her a widow. She remarried on 4 February 1683 to Jean Baptiste Fanquelin at Notre Dame de Quebec. Elisabeth departed this life on Wednesday, 4 October 1690 in ville de Quebec at Hotel-Dieu at age 36 years, 7 months and 12 days. On the same day, she was buried there in the cemetery of Notre Dame.⁴
