Samuel was born on Saturday, 11 April 1693 in Upper Marborough, Calvert County, Maryland, at their plantation and family home called "Major's Lot".3 Samuel married Elizabeth Tyler on 11 July 1717 in Queen Anne's Parish, Prince George County, Maryland, at St. Barnabas Church.3 Samuel and Elizabeth had children: Mary [3/05/1718][m. 10/31/1734 James Mullikin Jr.], Samuel [1719-12/31/1820][m. 1756 Eleanor Willett], Susanna [1720-1780][m. 6/22/1738 Rchard Simmons], Jemima [1723-1/26/1785][m. 1742 Henry Child], Priscilia [1726-], Robert [9/23/1729-11/24/1780][m. 2/19/1753 Elizabeth Willett], Elizabeth [9/29/1731-3/29/1778][m. 1740 James Baldwin] & John [1735-3/17/1739]. Samuel made his will on 13 January 1735.
In his will, Samuel names his wife Elizabeth Executrix and gives her 1/3 of his personal estate and life interest in their dwelling plantation. The home plantation then to pass to their son Samuel. Son Robert to receive the plantation "Wickhams and Pottengers Discovery" containing 200 acres. Son John to receive 200 acres from the Additoin to the First Purchase near tge Potomac River which his father purchased from National Wickham Junior. Son Robert to also receive land on which Thomas Wheeler lives which his father-in-law Robert Tyler promised him. Daughters Susannah, Elizabeth and Jemima are to receive 300 acres. Daughters Mary Mullikikn and Priscilia are to receive 200 acres from a Tract of Land Called "Fellowship" The Reverend John Orme is to received personalty. Samuel desires his children to be taught to read, write and to simp;e sums. He appoints overseers as Father Tyler, John Lamar & James Milikin Jun. Witnesses: Richard Dainty, Henry Bryant & David Heinises.4
