     John was born in Westminister, London, County Middlesex, England. He was christened there on 24 December 1614 in St. Martin's-in-the-Field.3 He & his brothers, Stephen & Henry, came to Plymouth in 1635 with their Uncle Mr. John Atwood. The tree brothers often went by the surname Wood.4 John married Sarah Masterson circa 1643 in Massachusetts.1 John & Sarah had children: Mary[ -1/06/1715][m. 12/11/1661 Reverend John Holmes & 2nd. 1676 Major William Bradford, s/o William Bradford of the Mayflower], Sarah [ -ca 1685][m. 2/13/1678/79 John Fallowell], Abigail [ -ca 1698][m Samuel Leonard], John [3/04/1650], Nathaniel [2/25/1642-12/17/1724][m. 1683 Mary Morey], Isaac [2/27/1654], Mercy [1656-3/04/1697], Elizabeth [ca 1658][m. Caleb Nye] & Hannah [ -12/16/1718][m. 2/01/1693 Richard Cooper].1,5 John made his will on 22 November 1675 at Plymouth, Plymouth County, Massachusetts. He leaves his entire estate to his wife Sarah. After her death, it is to be divided equally among his children with his eldest son, John, to receive a double portion.6 John departed this life in Plymouth.7 The inventory of John's estate was taken on Sunday, 26 January 1676 being valued £153 6s 5p.6 His will was probated on 7 March 1676.
