Mehitable Plumb

Mehitable was born on Tuesday, 16 October 1696 in Milford, New Haven County, Connecticut. She was the daughter of Samuel & Mehitable Plumb.1 Mehitable married Sgt. John Sutliffe, son of Sgt. Nathaniel Sutliffe and Sarah Savage, in 1725 in Durham, Middlesex County, Connecticut. John & Mehitable had children: John [1/23/1726], John [7/26/1728], Elizabeth [10/05/1729][m. 5/29/1755 William Park], Nathaniel [9/02/1732] & Samuel [9/08/1733-5/06/1799] [m. 3/21/1755 Eunice Curtis]. Mehitable departed this life on Tuesday, 17 August 1751 in Durham at age 54 years, 10 months and 1 day. She was buried there in the Old Durham Cemetery. The inscription on her tombstone reads: In Memory of Mrs Mehitable wife of Mr John Sutliff who died August 17th 1751.2
