Joshua Pigman1

     Joshua was born on Saturday, 21 August 1751 in Montgomery District, Montgomery County, Maryland. He was the son of Matthew Pigman and Mary Gatrell. Joshua married Jemima Ridgely, daughter of Westall Ridgely and Sarah Isaac, on 6 July 1777 in Frederick County. Joshua and Jemima had children: , Levi [5/25/1778-7/08/1822][m. 8/01/1801 Jane Taylor], Joshua [12/10/1779-8/21/1828][m. 4/23/1806 Nacky Penn], & Sarah [8/19/1783-10/24/1845][m. 4/12/1803 Rev. Walter Griffith]. The 1790 U.S. Federal Census enumerates at Montgomery County, Maryland, the family of Joshua Pigman [22:3].2 The 1800 U.S. Federal Census enumerates at District 1 the family of Joshua Pigman [00211:00111].3 By 1808, the family had moved to Ohio settling in the village of Neville, Washington Township, Clermont County. Joshua departed this life on Thursday, 23 April 1812 in the Village of Neville, Washington Township at age 60 years, 8 months and 2 days.
