     Peter was born in 1245 in Coulsdon, County Surrey, England, at Hooley House. Peter married Alice (?) circa 1269. In 1279, Peter and Alice were in possession of a 220 acre tract of land which became known as Wood Place. The couple, however lived at Hooley House. Peter departed this life after 1313 in England.

[S1257] Elijah Francis Atwood, Ye Atte Wode Annuals, Part 1, page 1 - …The very next year [1279]finds Peter Atte Wode and wife Alice suing to record title to a 220 acre tract “nearby” which is known today as Wood Place. Peter doubtless lived at Hooley House for in 1313, he had the buildings and part of the land of Wood Place leased to one Roger de Bosco, or de Wood.
