Margery was born circa 1538 in Exeter, Devonshire, England. She probably left Exeter with her father in 1553, due to Queen Mary's persecution of protestants. The family returned in 1558 following the death of the Queen. Margery married John Swete, son of John Swete and Johane Scoos, circa 1556 in Upton, South Milton, Devonshire, England.
