Sir John was born on Wednesday, 3 February 1643/44 in England. Sir married Rachael Pickney, daughter of Philip Pickney, circa 1675. John inherited the manor from his uncle Thomas, who was first Lord of the Manor. having obtained a grant from the indians located north and east of the Bronx River - 14 November 1654. Sir departed this life in September 1702 in Pellham Manor, Westchester County, New York.
