Desire Parshall

     Desire was born in 1739 in the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York. She was the daughter of David Parshall and Subyl White. Desire married Daniel Downs, son of John Downs and Margaret Howell, on 18 January 1755 in the Town of Southold. Daniel and Desire had children: Daniel [1756-4/05/1839] [m. 1775 Abigai. Tuthill and 2nd 1808 Nancy Tuthill], Desire [1757-1/03/1832] [m. Thomas Rogers], Joannah [1759-5/25/1823] [m. 1777 Obadiah Wells], Nicolls, Parshall, John, Ira, & Huldah [2/17/1777-9/21/1843] [m. 1796 Jonathan Baker]. Desire's husband, Daniel, died on 16 April 1782 in Moriches leaving her a widow. Desire departed this life in 1785 in Moriches at age 46 years. She was buried there in Hawkins-Downs Cemetery.¹
