Mary was born in 1677 in Isle of Wight, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York. Mary married David Howell I, son of Richard Howell I and Miss _____, circa 1701 in the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York.1 She and David were blessed with 6 children and possibly others. The children all appear to be born of this marriage. From studying the names of the children and the names in the James Parshall family, it is my contention that the first wife was Mary Parshall. I have no proof for this. Their son Richard names one of their son's Parshall. Mary departed this life on Saturday, 22 December 1742 in Mattituck in the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York.2 She was buried at Mattituck in the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York, in the Presbyterian Church Cemetery. She was buried with her husband, David. Her stone says she was in her 66th year.

What we do know is that the children's names are like those of David Parshall's; Mary is the same age as David's wife; the name Parshall is continued down the line; David's brother, Jacob married Margaret, daughter of David Parshall.
