     Richard was born on Tuesday, 20 March 1579 in Great Leighs, County Essex, England. He was christened there on 21 March 1579 in St. Mary the Virgin Church.2 Richard married Frances Slany, daughter of Richard Slany and Margaret Adams, on 3 November 1606 in Bartlow, Cambridgeshire, England, at Parish Church of Bartlow.3,4 Richard's wife, Frances, died before 10 September 1630 in Fairsted, County Essex, England, leaving him a widower. Richard departed this life in Fairsted. He was buried there on Saturday, 16 November 1641.
