     Rachael was born on Wednesday, 20 March 1861 in Hungerford Township, Hastings County, Ontario, Canada. She was the daughter of Michael & Sarah Ann [Gabourie] O'Neil. Rachael married Louis Trifley Meraw II, son of Louis-Treffle Merand and Harriett Pelland dit Beausoliel, on 18 January 1886 in the Village of Tweed, Hungerford Township. Rachael was first married to John Dolan who died 21 November 1884 - age 26 years, 1 month, 16 days. They had a daughter Sarah who died 13 December 1884 - age 1 year, 4 months. [Note: John's name may have been Golan-klm]1 Trifley & Rachel had children: Carmel [1/18/1888-12/08/1980], Mary Ellen [10/07/1889-10/19/1968], Fredrick Edward [11/03/1891-2/23/1964]. Raymond [11/27/1894-4/00/1963], Francis James [12/21/1896-4/10/1931], Edward [6/00/1900-7/24/1964], & Clarence L. [8/20/1902-4/12/1964]. 6 April 1891, Rachael and her husband, Louis, were listed on the Canadian Census at Hungerford Township. They owned their home.4 Rachael's husband, Louis, died on 31 March 1927 in Hungerford Township at his home on lot 4 of concession 13 leaving her a widow.5,6 Rachael departed this life on Saturday, 2 November 1946 in Hungerford Township at age 85 years, 7 months and 13 days. She was buried there in St. Carthagh Churchyard in grave no. 245. The inscription on his gravestone reads: Trifley Meraw 1860-1927 & wife Rachael O'Neil 1864-1946.7
