Johannes Legatt Sr.

     Johannes was born circa 1336 in Havering, County Essex, England. He was the son of Robert Legatt. He was often referred to as John. Johannes had a son, Johannes, Jr. who is noted in record in the 5th year of Edward IV which was 1465 - nup. de Sutton. Not sure of the meaning but could mean his marriage to a Sutton. The Sutton Manor was located just south of Hornchurch Hall and is later given in the will of Thomas Legatt to his great nephew. The son being born prior to 1446 since his father had taken on the title of Sr. by this time. Being that in 1465 Johannes still used the title of Jr., Johannes Sr. must still have been alive. Johannes departed this life after 1465 in Havering, County Essex, England.
