Francois Grenette

M, b. 1643, d. 30 May 1691
     Francois was born in 1643 in St-Leu-la-Foret, Val-d'Ose, Il de France, France. He was the son of Jean Grenet & Jeanne Delan. A contract for the marriage of Francois and Marie du Coudre was signed on 29 August 1670. It was drawn up by notary, Romain Becquet. Francois married Marie du Coudre on 15 September 1670 in ville de Quebec, Quebec, Canada, at the Basilica of Notre Dame.1 1681, Francois and Marie were listed on the Canadian Census in Comte-de-Levis, Quebec, Canada. Enumerated in this household were Francois Grenet [38 years], Marie du Coudre [38 years], Perrine [9 years], Jean [8 years], Baptiste [4 years] & Andre [2 years]. They had 3 arpents of land.2,3 On 18 May 1691, he was listed as patient at the Hotel-Dieu, Quebec.4 Francois departed this life on Wednesday, 30 May 1691 in ville de Quebec at Hotel-Dieu at age 48 years. On the same day, he was buried there in the cemetery of the Hotel-Dieu.5
