Benjamin Fairbanks

     Benjamin was born on Friday, 17 February 1661/62 in Dedham, Norfolk County, Massachusetts. He was the son of John & Sarah [Fiske] Fairbanks.1 Benjamin married Mary Richards, daughter of John Richards and Mary Colburn, before 23 March 1692/93 in Dedham, Norfolk County, Massachusetts. On this date, the lands of Mary's father were divided and it showed she was married to Benjamin at that time. Benjamin & Mary had children: Mary [9/02/1693] & a posthumous son, Benjamin[7/06/1695].1 Benjamin departed this life on Sunday, 5 December 1694 in Dedham, Norfolk County, Massachusetts. Benjamin did not leave a will. On the same day, a bond was signed with Boaz Browne for the sum of £300. Boaz & Joseph Fairbanks made the inventory on 10 February the following. The total value being £120 of real estate & £23 in personal property.1 Letters of Administration of his estate were granted on 14 October 1697 to his widow, Mary, & her new husband, Richard Truesdale.. The inventory of Benjamin's estate was taken on Monday, 10 February 1698 by Boaz Browne & Joseph Fairbanks. The total value being £120 of real estate & £23 in personal property.
