     Joan was born on Wednesday, 29 September 1328 in Oxfordshire, England, at Woodstock Palace. She was the daughter of Edmund of Woodstock, 1st Earl of Kent and Margaret Wake, 3rd Baroness Wake of Liddell. Joan married Edward "The Black" - House of Plantagenet - Prince of Wales, son of Edward III - House of Plantagenet - , King of England and Phillipa - Queen of England, on 10 October 1361 in Old Windsor, Berkshire, England. John & the Countess had chilren. Their son Richard, became King of England at the age of 10 years. Joan's husband, an unknown person , died on 8 June 1376 in the Westminister Palace, Westminister, County Middlesex, England, leaving her a widow; He died at the Palace. He was buried. Joan departed this life on Monday, 8 August 1385 in Wallingford Castle Wallingford, Berkshire, England, at age 56 years, 10 months and 10 days.
