     Child was born in L'Ange-Gardien, Montmorency County, Quebec, Canada. He was christened there on 6 January 1670 in the church of L'Ange-Gardien.1 He was the son of Bertrand Chesnay dit LaGarenne and Marie-Madeleine Belanger. Child departed this life on Thursday, 9 January 1670 in L'Ange-Gardien. He was buried there in the cemetery of La Visitation-de-Notre-Dame on Friday, 10 January 1670.2
