Margaret Brooke

F, b. before 8 March 1561, d. before 10 October 1634
     Margaret was born in London, County Middlesex, England, at the parish of St. Leonard's. She was christened there on 8 March 1561 in St. Leonard's Church [Near Eastcheap].1 She was the daughter of John Brooke and Elizabeth Whetman. Margaret married John Foote, son of John Foote and Helen Warren, on 11 May 1581 in London, County Middlesex, England, at St. Leonard's Church [Near Eastcheap]. They received their license on 10 April 1581.2,3,4 John & Margaret had children: John, Sir Thomas [m. Elizabeth [Mott] Boddicott], Samuel, Elizabeth [m. John Hayes], Susan [m. Edward Cutt], Priscilla [m. Robert Clement wnd Richard Garford], Ellen [m. Benyon 2nd Charles Harris].5 Margaret's husband, an unknown person , died before 4 December 1616 in London, County Middlesex, England, leaving her a widow. Margaret made her will on 13 September 1634. In her will she describes herself as Margaret Foote of St. Benet Gracechurch, London. Margaret departed this life in London at the parish of St. Benet. She was laid to rest in St. Benet Church, London, County Middlesex, England, being within the church. Her will was probated on 10 October 1634.
