Ester Botsford

     Ester was born on Sunday, 2 June 1647 in Milford, New Haven County, Connecticut. She was the daughter of Henry Botsford and Elizabeth Woolhead. Ester married Nathaniel Wheeler, son of Thomas Wheeler and Joanna (?), on 21 June 1676 in Essex County, New Jersey. Nathaniel & Ester had children: Nathaniel [b. 1677], Samuel, Hannah [d. 13 Nov 1719 & m. Amos Williams - son David], Elizabeth [m. John Ogden], Ester. Ester's husband, Nathaniel, died on 4 October 1726 in Orange, Essex County, New Jersey, leaving her a widow. Ester departed this life on Friday, 14 March 1732 in Orange at age 84 years, 9 months and 12 days. She was buried there in the First Presbeterian Churchyard. The inscription on her tombstone reads: Here Lyes ye Body of Esther, wife of Nathaniel Wheeler Dec'd March 14, 1732/3. In ye 87th year of her age.¹
