     John Bogart was born on Wednesday, 29 April 1801 at the family home at 99 Beekman Street. He was the son of Augustus Wright and Katharine Uyt ten Bogaert [second]. John married Nancy Delano Howland on 6 August 1827. They resided at N°. 45 Henry 49th Street . John was in the wholesale dry goods business, at N°'. 233 Pearl street, in partnership with his brother Edward Augustus & his nephew Augustus Wright Leggett for many years. They then removed to Bloomfield, New Jersey. John departed this life on Thursday, 29 July 1858 in Bloomfield, Essex County, New Jersey.
