John Webb

John was born circa 1613 in England. On 6 January 1633/34 he was released by his master William Parks of Roxbury. He then lived in the Boston for approximately the next 10 years before moving to Hartford. It appears he conducted his business of bing a brasier [worker in brass] in both Hartford and Northampton as there are records of him andd his family in both places.1 John married Anna Bassett, daughter of John Bassett and Margery (?), by__ ___ 1647 in Hartford, Hartford County, Connecticut.2 John and Ann had children: John [1642-4/03/1720] [m. 12/12/1765 Susanna Cunliff], Richard [1644-10/30/1651], Sarah [1646-2/29/1704] [m. 12/16/1668 Zachariah Field & 2nd. Robert Price], Mary [2/05/1647/48-3/14/1676] [m. 3/24/1663 John Earle], Susannah [1650-10/17/1651], Lydia [1652-8/26/1667] & Richard [1654-8/23/1700] [m. 1680 Patience]. On 16 October 1667, he married second, Elizabeth Swift, daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Swift. John departed this life in Springfield. The inventory of John's estate was taken on Friday, 13 June 1670. His estate was appraised at £82 9s. 4d. His will was probated on 27 September 1670. His widow presented the inventory to the court at Springfield on this date.
