Samuel Searing

     Samuel was born in Hempstead Town, Queens County, Long Island, New York. He was the son of John Searing II and Anne Pearsall. Samuel married Hannah Carman on 24 August 1733 in Queens County, Long Island, New York, at St. George's Anglician Church in the Town of Hempstead. Samuel & Hannah had children: Samuel, Anne, Margaret, Martha, Hannah, Sarah, Gilbert & Jacob. Samuel made his will on 6 March 1757 at Hempstead Town, Queens County, Long Island, New York. He mentions his wife, Hannah, & his children: Samuel, Anne, Margaret, Hannah, Martha, Gilbert & Jacob [two youngest sons to be kept at school until age fourteen], his mother Anne Searing [for son Samuel to take care of her according to his father's will]. nephew Jacob, cousin John. Esch of the daughters is ti receive a feather bed and furniture that belongs to the bed and 50 pounds. Executors wife and son Samuel. Witnesses: Daniel Searing, Jonathon Searing, John Searing and John Truckard. States of the Parish of Hempstead, Daniel Searing's land adjoins that that he gave to his son Samuel.
