Mercy St. John

     Mercy was born circa 1645 in Norwalk, Fairfield County, Connecticut. She was the daughter of Matthias St. John [Sention]. Mercy married Ephraim Lockwood, son of Robert Lockwood and Susannah Norman, on 8 June 1665 in Norwalk, Fairfield County, Connecticut. Ephriam and Mercy had children: John [3/19/1666], Daniel [8/13/1668-1712], Sarah [11/03/1670] [m. John Platt], Ephriam [5/01/1673], Eliphalet [2/27/1676] [m. Mary Gold], Joseph [4/01/1680] [m. Mary Wood], James [4/21/1683] [m. Lidia Smith].1 Mercy's husband, Ephraim, died on 13 June 1685 in Norwalk leaving her a widow. Mercy departed this life before 1 February 1694 in Fairfield, Fairfield County, Connecticut. The inventory of Mercy's estate was taken on Monday, 1 February 1694 by James Olmsted and Samuel Smith. The estate was appraised at £89 5s. 6d.2
