Martha Prior1

     Martha was born on Saturday, 15 October 1672 in Town of Oyster Bay, Queens County, Long Island, New York, at her family home in Killingworth Upon Matinecock. She was the daughter of Matthew Prior and Mary (?) Martha married Simon Cooper the 24th day of the 5th month 1693 in Matinecock, the town of Oyster Bay, Queens County, Long Island, New York. Simon & Mary had children: Simon, [4/30/1694][m. Judith White], Mary [9/17/1696][m. 1718 John Latham]. Robert [2/16/1700] & Joseph [5/25/1705][m. Mary Wright]. They were all born in theTown of Oyster Bay. Martha departed this life in 1717 in Cove Neck in the Town of Oyster Bay at age 44 years.2 She was laid to rest in the Prior section of the Underhill Burying Ground in Locust Valley, Town of Oyster Bay, Queens County, Long Island, New York, as shown by a tombstone marked "M. C. 1711" among the Priar Interments.
