Joost Paulding
M, b. before 3 November 1708, d. 24 February 1786
Joost was born in New York City, New York County, New York. He went by the name Joseph. He was christened there on 3 November 1708 in the New Amsterdam Reformed Dutch Church. The witnesses were Johannes Hardenbroek & wife Annetje Bos.1 He was the son of Joost Paulding and Catharina Hans Duyts. Joost married Susanna Wyt on 18 June 1732. Joost & Susanna had children: Willem [12/07/1735], Susanna [8/30/1741] & Catharina [9/30/1744].2 Joost departed this life on Friday, 24 February 1786 in Sleepy Hollow, Westchester County, New York. He was buried there in the Reformed Dutch Church Burying Ground.3

The house of Joseph Paulding is still standing on the saw mill road at East View, the property of James Butler.
