He immigrated from France to Montreal in 1658 at age 20 years.³ Jean married Marie-Charlotte Chauvin, daughter of Michel Chauvin and Anne Archambault, on 27 November 1663 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, at the Basilica of Notre Dame.⁴ 1666, Jean and Marie-Charlotte were listed on the Canadian Census in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
