Ruth Barlow

     Ruth was born circa 1679 in Fairfield, Fairfield County, Connecticut. She was the daughter of John Barlow II and Abigail Lockwood. John and Ruth had children: Ruth [4/21/1699] [m. 8/__/1717 Thomas Merwin], Stephen [7/12/1701-5/21/1767] [m. 3/2/1722 Abigail Treadwell & 2nd Ann Elliot], Gershom [11/18/1703-6/11/1768] [m. 4/22/1725 Sarah Hill], Abijah [1712] [m. 1737 Mary Middlebrook], John [9/19/1714-6/13/1785] [m. Mary Stewart], Epharim [1716] [m. Eunice Miller], Ann [9/14/1718-11/056/1755] [m. 4/07/1736 James Morgan], & James [11/11/1722] [m. Hannah Bulkley]. Ruth married John Morehouse in Fairfield.¹ Ruth's husband, John, died before 31 May 1727 in Fairfield, leaving her a widow.
