Esther Mae Yager

     Esther was born in 1894 at Saugerties, Ulster County, New York. She was the daughter of Ethan Yagber and Cora E Kerr.¹ Esther Mae married 2nd Edmund Burke Underhill II, son of Edmund Burke Underhill and Gertrude Colden Ferris, in 1922 in Poughkeepsie, Dutchess County, New York. 24 April 1930, Estherand her husband, and her husband, Edmund were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Poughkeepsie, Dutchess County, New York, at Salt Point Rd. Enumerated in this household were Edmund B Underhill [53 New York], Esther M [35 New York], Robert E [7 New York], Donald [4 New York] & Step-son: Harold Stockholm [13 New York]. They own a fruit farm. They also own a radio.² 2 August 1940, Estherand her husband, and her husband, Edmund were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Poughkeepsie, Dutchess County, New York, at Underhill Road. Enumerated in this household were Edmund B Underhill [63 New York], Esther M [46 New York], Robert E [17 New York], Donald [15 New York]. They own a fruit farm.³ Esther departed this life in 1979 in Poughkeepsie at age 85 years. She was buried at Poughkeepsie in the Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery. The inscription on Edmund's and Esther's tombstone reads: UNDERHILL - Esther M. - Mar.16,1864-Mar. 12, 1879 - Edmund B. - Mar. 1, 1877-JAN. 8, 1976.¹
