Adah Crump

     Adah was born on Saturday, 29 April 1882 at Montclair Township, Essex County, New Jersey. She was the daughter of Samuel Crump and Anna E. Riker. Adah married Robert Murray Ferris Jr., son of Robert Murray Ferris and Mary Anna Tabor, on 16 September 1903. 3 May 1910, Adahand her husband, Robert were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Montclair, Essex County, New Jersey, at 4 Persall Street. Enumerated in this household were Robert M Ferris [35 New York], Adah C [29 New Jersey], Robert M. Jr. [8/12 New Jersey] & a servant: Mary O'Brian [44 Ireland]. They have been married 6 years with 1 child living. He is an electicala engineer.¹ 27 February 1920, Adah was listed on the U.S. Federal Census at Montclair, Essex County, New Jersey, at 166 Orange Road. Enumerated in this household were Adah Ferris [38 New Jersey], Robert M. Jr. [10 New Jersey], John R. [8 New Jersey] & a Maid: Toini Kaihlainey [23 Findland].² 16 April 1930, Adah was listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Montclair at 166 Orange Road. Enumerated in this household were Ada C. Ferris [48 New Jersey], Robert M [20 New Jersey], John R [19 New Jersey] & a boarder: Nancy Herron [20 New Jersey]. Ada was a merchant selling Win Ware, Nancy was a clerck at the same business. She owns her home; its value is $10,000. The family owns a radio.³ Adah departed this life on Wednesday, 25 March 1964 in Montclair Township at age 81 years, 10 months and 25 days.

She was buried on 27 March 1964 at Martha's Vineyard, Chilmark, Duke's County, Massachusetts, in Abel's Hill Cemetery.
