Charles Beardslee, a resident of Detroit for the past 6 years, died on Thursday in his home, 175 Marston Ave., at the age of 90 years. Mr. Beardslee was born in Sussex County, N. J., and came to Michigan when seven years old, his family settling in Independence Oakland County, Michigan.
He is survived by a widow and eight children, Grace, Katherine, and Rowland Beardslee of Detroit: Mrs. Fredrick A. Brown , of Ludington, Mrs. William Hart of Clarkston, Mrs. S. M. Keyes of Brooklyn N. Y., Charles S. Beardslee of Washington, Michigaln and Frank E. Beardslee of Grand Rapids, Funeral services will be held Monday morning in the residence and the body will be taken to Sashabaw Plians for Burial. [Journal - 30 April 1915].

Charles was laid to rest on 1 May 1915 in Sashabaw Cemetery, Sashabaw Plains, Independence Township, Oakland County, Michigan.1

     Samuel was born Tuesday, 19 August 1828 at Frankford Township, Sussex County, New Jersey. He was the son of Thomas Beardslee and Rachel Tuttle. (an unknown value). Samuel departed this life on Sunday, 2 July 1899 at the village of Armada, Macomb County, Michigan, at age 70 years, 10 months and 13 days. For the past three years he had been failing in health, and for the greater part of that time he experienced intense pain and suffering which were borne with exemplary patience and fortitude.
