Rachel was born on Wednesday, 20 March 1861 in the Village of Stoco, Hungerford Township, Hastings County, Ontario, Canada. She was the daughter of Michael & Sarah [Gaborie] O'Neil. Rachel married Louis Trifley Meraw II, son of Louis Trifley Meraw and Harriet Pelland dit Beausoliel, on 18 January 1886 in Village of Stoco, Hungerford Township, Hastings County, Ontario, Canada, at St. Edmund's Church.¹ As of 18 January 1886,her married name was Meraw.¹ Rachael was first married to John Dolan who died 21 November 1884 - age 26 years, 1 month, 16 days. They had a daughter Sarah who died 13 December 1884 - age 1 year, 4 months. Her parents were Michael O'Neil & Sarah Ann Gabourie. Rachel departed this life on Saturday, 2 November 1946 in Hungerford Township, Hastings County, Ontario, Canada, at age 85 years, 7 months and 13 days. Rachel was laid to rest in the yard of St. Carthagh Church, Village of Tweed, Hungerford Township, Hastings County, Ontario, Canada, in grave number 245. The inscription on his gravestone reads: Trifley Meraw 1860-1927 & wife Rachael O'Neil 1864-1946.²
