     Mary Ethel was born on Monday, 2 November 1885 in Hungerford Township, Hastings County, Ontario, Canada. After 3 November 1885, she was christened in Village of Stoco, Hungerford Township, Hastings County, Ontario, Canada, at St. Edmund's Church. The church records were burned in 1884-1885 in a church fire. Mary Ethel Meraw also went by the name of Ethel. Her married name was Pollock.1 Ethel was listed on the U.S. Federal census living with her sister in 27 Labrosse Street, Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan. Enumberated in the household were George J. Lemire [29 Canada immigrated 1900], Anna E. [29 Canada immigrated 1900], They were married 4 years living on Labrosse. Addie B. Meraw [35 Canada - immigrated 1892 dressmaker], Ethel M. Dist. 0049, Family 0177] Ethel married Victor Montieth Pollock on 2 July 1910 in Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan.2 6 February 1920, Ethel and her husband Victor were listed on the U.S. Federal Census at Birmingham, Oakland County, Michigan, at 142 S. Woodward. Enumerated in this household were Victor M. Pollock [38 Canada], Ethel M. [31 Canada], Robert V. [5 Michigan], Phillip M. [6 mos. Michigan], William L. Farmer ]64 Ohio]. [Volume 73, Enum. Dist. 161, sheet 37, line 44] 22 February 1930, Ethel and her husband Victor were listed on the U.S. Federal Census at Birmingham, Oakland County, Michigan, at 386 East Maple. Enumerated in this household were Victor M. Pollock [48 Canada, Scotland & England], Ethel M. [40 Canada, Canada & Canada], Robert V. [15 Michigan], Philip M. [10 Michigan]. They were renting their home for $55. Victor became a citizen in 1884 & Ethel became citizen in 1908. [Enum. Dist. 63-9, sheet 33a, line 26] Ethel's husband, Victor died on 28 August 1944 in 619 Vinewood, Birmingham, Oakland County, Michigan, at age 65 years and 5 days, leaving her a widow. Ethel died on Saturday, 21 February 1959 at Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, Oakland County, Michigan, at age 73 years, 3 months and 19 days of a brain tumor. Ethel was laid to rest in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield, Oakland County, Michigan, in section 15, lot 65, grave 12 alongside her husband. Her sisters: Ada & Ester Ann are buried in the same section.3
